Fan-run tracker WizStatz credits the singer with the mark, but Kworb still had him below it on October 25.

Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, the Nigerian Afrobeats performer better known as Wizkid, is reported to have become the first African act to pass the 12-billion mark on Spotify, counting every credited appearance. The milestone was reported on Monday, October 26, 2026. The figure comes from WizStatz, a music statistics account that Pulse Nigeria describes as fan-run.

The count covers every track he is credited on, whether as a lead artiste or a featured performer. That includes his solo releases, his collaborations and his guest appearances on other musicians' songs. Guardian Nigeria says the reported achievement further highlights his place among Africa's most successful musical exports.

One Dance is a major contributor to that total. Drake's hit, released in 2016, features Wizkid and British singer Kyla, and it has become one of Spotify's biggest songs, with more than 4.5 billion streams reported by independent trackers. Pulse Nigeria says it remains a major contributor to his streaming legacy, even though it is not his own lead single.

Then there is Essence, with Nigerian singer Tems. Essence came out in 2020 on his Made in Lagos LP. It gained wider international recognition in 2021 after a remix with Canadian singer Justin Bieber, which Pulse Nigeria says took the song to an even wider pop audience.

The 12 billion figure follows earlier milestones this year. In January, he was reported to have become the first African act to reach 10 billion Spotify streams on all credits, and in May he reportedly went beyond 11 billion. Guardian Nigeria says the successive milestones reflect the growing international consumption of Afrobeats, and the role streaming platforms play in carrying Nigerian artistes beyond traditional music markets.

His catalogue also includes Ojuelegba, Joro and Come Closer, the last featuring Drake.

The 12 billion figure is not yet agreed everywhere. Pulse Nigeria reports that Kworb's Spotify tracker still had Wizkid below that mark, at 11,656,624,913, in its October 25, 2026, update.
