The We're Not Done initiative will fund groups in Nigeria, Canada, Ghana and the UK, with support from Pesa.
The Adekunle Gold Foundation (AGF), a non-profit dedicated to raising global awareness of sickle cell disease, and the global financial platform Pesa have launched a $20,000 initiative to support organisations working with people living with the condition in four countries. The programme, called We're Not Done, was announced in a statement made available to Premium Times on Thursday.
The foundation was established by singer Adekunle Kosoko, known as Adekunle Gold, who has openly discussed living with sickle cell disease and used his influence to advocate for the community.
The four beneficiaries are: in Nigeria, Sickle Cell Advocacy Management Initiative; in Canada, Not Just You; in Ghana, Sickle Life; and in the United Kingdom, It Takes A Village. Recipients will put the cash toward widening healthcare access, bolstering patient support, improving public education and intensifying awareness and advocacy campaigns.
Adekunle Gold set out what the initiative is for in the statement:
"We're Not Done is about turning awareness into action. Incredible organisations are working every day to improve the lives of people living with sickle cell, and together with Pesa, we want to give them more resources to do that work and reach even more people."
In a video announcing the initiative, he said: "The fight against sickle cell is bigger than any one person or foundation. There's still so much work to be done, and so many lives waiting to be changed. We cannot do it alone." He also said the initiative would hand on contributions his foundation has received to organisations doing vital work. "With PESA's support, we're starting with twenty thousand dollars," he stated.
Pesa joins as programme partner, supporting both the launch and the first cycle of impact. Its Head of Global Growth and Marketing, Tosin Olaniyi, said the partnership was about tangible support for people affected by the condition: "These are our friends, colleagues, and loved ones. Adekunle Gold has shown how a personal connection to an issue can become a force for meaningful change, and we're proud to support the launch of We're Not Done, an initiative dedicated to raising awareness and supporting the sickle cell community."
Pesa is a global financial platform headquartered in Mississauga, Ontario, and operates across Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Nigeria and select European markets. The partners say the aim is to build a platform that combines funding, advocacy and visibility across the sickle cell ecosystem.
The foundation has run earlier programmes. Premium Times reported in June 2025 that Adekunle Gold launched 5 Star Care under AGF to mark World Sickle Cell Day, providing free, comprehensive health insurance to 1,000 people living with sickle cell disease. On 11 May 2024, he organised a medical outreach in Lagos with the Sickle Cell Advocacy and Management Initiative, which provided medical examinations, medication and health management advice to about 250 patients.
