The singer, who is 46, answered a social media user who questioned the title at her age.
HypeTribe reports that Tiwa Savage's fresh single, African Baddie, has been released on Apple Music and various other platforms. The song runs 2:37, and Tooxclusive lists its genre as Afrobeats / Afro-Pop.
The title drew a jab from a social media user, whose post read: "African baddie at 40... this one no serious." Tiwa replied with a post on X saying she is 46, and expressed confidence in her appearance, finances and music career.
In the same reply she announced the record in one line:
"46, fine, paid, unbothered and dropping my super hottttt record 'African Baddie' on Friday."
She closed with a question for him: "What exactly is the problem, boy?"
On 29 October, at 1 p.m. WAT, she set the midnight drop on X, writing: "You guys have done a madness with this one, so happy you love #AfricanBaddie! Will be yours at midnight."
She first teased the record on 27 October. The title has a relative in her catalogue: African Waist, with Don Jazzy on her second album, R.E.D. (2016).
She spent the weekend before the drop in London, HypeTribe reported. She was a surprise guest at Fally Ipupa's two nights at The O2 on 24 and 25 October, performing Somebody's Son, according to XclusivStars. On 26 October she thanked him on X: "Thank you for having me King… J'aime ma famille francophone."
So far this year, the bulk of her releases have featured other performers. She joined Wande Coal and Mavo on Energy in May, Wande Coal again on Must Be Love in June, and closed out with Chip on DJ Target's Bring You Flowers on 15 October.
Her previous full-length, This One Is Personal, was released in August 2025 by Everything Savage and EMPIRE.
