Mr Eazi says his neighbours abroad include Formula One racers, tennis stars and footballers such as Paul Pogba.
Nigerian singer Oluwatosin Ajibade, known as Mr Eazi, says rent money was part of why he released his latest single. The rent is not for his Lagos home. It is for the place where he lives abroad.
He made the admission during a Twitch livestream hosted by content creator Okikidft, which Legit.ng said circulated on X on October 19, 2026.
Comfort is the single in question, made together with the Ghanaian-American performer MOLIY and put out in October 2026. Nigerian hitmaker Ragee produced the track, which blends Mr Eazi's Banku Music sound with Afrobeats, dancehall and R&B.
Mr Eazi was direct about where the money was headed:
"I still dey find rent. I wan pay rent, na why I even drop this song. No be my Lagos rent, na for where I dey stay."
He also described the neighbourhood he lives in now, which he said is home to Formula One drivers, tennis players and footballers. He still finds that surprising. Among the neighbours is French footballer Paul Pogba, and Mr Eazi said he can simply see him there.
"All of us, we are neighbours. So I fit just dey see Pogba… e dey make me like dey… They are very private people."
The rent admission sits beside a large business portfolio. Mr Eazi is a co-founder of PawaPay, a fintech company that processes payments across African markets, and he runs a music company called emPawa. Months earlier, he said he had invested in businesses operating in 19 African countries, and that one company he is particularly proud of processes four million transactions daily across those countries.
In 2025, he married Temi Otedola, daughter of Nigerian business tycoon Femi Otedola. Legit.ng had earlier reported that he hired nine doctors across different countries to monitor Temi's pregnancy.
Legit.ng compiled reactions from social media users. @Samuelcruz910 wrote: "E no really easy for Mr Eazi", and @Anointingxx reacted: "Tell otedola to pay he rent nah?"
