A Turkish journalist says Mendes' chief advisor offered a move to Barcelona or Real Madrid. The striker's answer: he only works with his lawyer.

Victor Osimhen, the Super Eagles forward, reportedly rejected representation from Jorge Mendes, the agent who once looked after Cristiano Ronaldo. The claim comes from Turkish journalist Ali Naci Küçük, who spoke to 343 Digital.

Küçük said Mendes' chief advisor, Umberto Saldavor, flew to Istanbul three weeks ago to hold talks with the striker. The offer, he said, was to secure a move to Barcelona or Real Madrid, and Saldavor used a bold line to sell it: "Barcelona, Real Madrid, whichever you want, I can take you there."

Osimhen was not swayed. Küçük relayed the striker's answer in one line:

"I only work with my lawyer, I'm happy at Galatasaray."

When he was contacted about the latest offer, Osimhen made his priorities clear: "Right now, all my concentration is on Galatasaray."

In July 2025 the permanent transfer to the Turkish champions went through, with Galatasaray handing Napoli €75 million to land him. Transfermarkt shows that move followed a loan spell in 2024/25, when he helped the Istanbul club win the Turkish Super Lig title.

In seven appearances for Galatasaray this season, Osimhen has scored six goals and made three assists, according to Fanatik.

During the window last summer, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Arsenal, Atletico Madrid, Juventus, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona were all linked to him. Other reports indicated he turned down offers valued at €120 million to €130 million from European sides, along with an overture from Al-Hilal of the Saudi Pro League. He stayed at Galatasaray.

It is still unknown whether the striker stays in Turkey past the present campaign. The January transfer window is approaching, and summer 2027 could bring renewed interest from clubs in Europe and beyond.
