Fabio Silva's 89th-minute equaliser kept Dortmund level on points with Bayern at the top of the Bundesliga.

Harry Kane missed a penalty and Fabio Silva scored a late equaliser as Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund drew 2-2 in Der Klassiker at the Allianz Arena on Saturday. Both sides are on 18 points at the top of the Bundesliga, with Bayern ahead on goal difference.

Kane's first match since winning the Ballon d'Or began with a ceremony before kick-off. He came out with his wife Katie and their four children, and carried the trophy onto the pitch as both sets of players applauded him. Land of Hope and Glory played over the stadium PA.

Kane told the Allianz Arena crowd how he felt about the club:

"I'm extremely proud to be a FC Bayern Munich player."

Bayern led in the 38th minute, when Konrad Laimer scored on the rebound after Gregor Kobel had blocked his first effort. Michael Olise had already hit the post for Bayern, and Jobe Bellingham's earlier goal for Dortmund was ruled out by VAR, which showed Carney Chukwuemeka colliding with the goalkeeper.

Kane then sent a penalty against the crossbar early in the second half. Serhou Guirassy levelled for Dortmund on the hour, after Kane had been dispossessed in the build-up. Dayot Upamecano tapped in six minutes later from a Kane assist, and Bayern had restored their lead.

It did not last. Kane also hit the post with a low shot, and Silva, who had come off the bench, equalised in the 89th minute. Lennart Karl's shot in stoppage time bounced off the crossbar, and Dortmund held on.

Kane scored 73 goals for club and country last season. He became the first Englishman since Michael Owen in 2001 to win the award, beating Kylian Mbappe and Lamine Yamal. He was also the first Bundesliga player since 1996 to win it. Last season he scored 36 Bundesliga goals, despite starting only 25 games.

Bayern have been short of players. Ismael Saibari and Serge Gnabry went off injured in the first half, and Luis Diaz is already out. Head coach Vincent Kompany is recovering after his collapse last week.

Kane was an unused substitute in the German Cup second-round win over Magdeburg on Wednesday, before returning to the starting line-up on Saturday.
