Agbara Nla: The Return has grossed ₦408.3m in Nigeria, the second-highest Nollywood gross of 2026, according to distributor Nile Entertainment.

Agbara Nla: The Return, the Nigerian faith-based film, opens in select US cinemas on Friday, 30 October. The Nile Group, the film's distributor, announced the release in an Instagram post on Tuesday and directed moviegoers to book tickets through AMC Theatres and Regal Cinemas.

The US date follows a run overseas. Posting on Thursday in a further update, the Nile Group put the film's earnings at £86,691 across the UK and Ireland and CAD$82,203 in Canada, bringing its reported international total to $173,650. Those are the distributor's own figures.

The Nile Group's Instagram post on the US release read:

"AGBARA NLA THE RETURN is officially opening in select U.S. cinemas from this Friday, OCTOBER 30th"

The Nile Group also claimed that the film had the biggest opening weekend ever for a Nollywood film in the UK, and the biggest UK pre-sales for a Nollywood production.

At home, the film has grossed ₦408.3m at the Nigerian box office, according to figures the distributor Nile Entertainment announced on Monday. That makes it the second-highest-grossing Nollywood film of 2026, and it has held the number-one spot at the Nigerian box office for four consecutive weekends.

The film revisits Agbara Nla, the 1993 film created by Christian filmmaker Mike Bamiloye. Bamiloye reprises his role as the herbalist Isawuru in the new production, which was directed by his sons, Damilola Mike-Bamiloye and Joshua Bamiloye. Among the cast are David Kola Okeowo, Gloria Mike-Bamiloye, Philip Olubakin, Remilekun Mosiko and Aanu Kolade Abiodun.

The Nile Group said the film was still showing in cinemas across the UK and Canada, and has announced its forthcoming release in Ireland through Odeon Cinemas.
