Rema, the self-acclaimed leader of the next-gen Afrobeats acts has come out to blatantly refute any linkage of diabolism with his art. He also used the medium to proudly break down the use of the animal bat as the symbol of Ravers.
Rema who blew up in early 2019 was soon to distinguish himself from his peers. To do this, he used a bat as the official symbol of his fan club—Ravers, and classified his sound as Afro-Rave.
For quite some time, no one seemed to have an issue with Rema making such a move but recently, different diabolical takes have been flying all around social media. The predominant of them all is the linkage of Rema and the Illuminati.
The Illuminati, simply put, is described as a secret cult that houses top personalities from the Western entertainment industry. Their operations have been rumored to be dark, involving blood sacrifices and other diabolical practices. Although no concrete evidence has stamped such claims, many choose to believe them regardless.
Rema and the Illuminati?
How did Rema get caught up in the Illuminati web? His recent video uploads to promote his upcoming EP caused it. More than ever, Rema’s use of the bat as branding has coloured his social media posts. Every single caption has the bat animal emoji, and the videos stylistically display the animal too.
Because of the preconceived notion of the bat as a demonic animal in Nigeria, people have come out to query Rema’s intention with the use of the animal. They label the Calm Down star as the newest member of the Illuminati. Even accusing the singer of being diabolical with his art—music.
“DEAD IT NOW”
To debunk the Illuminati linkage, Rema breaks down the reasoning behind his use of the bat. He begins with a strong disclaimer: “I BEEN ON THIS BAT SHIT FOR A LONGTIME (sic).” He continues his debunking by advising people to Google search his Benin heritage, and learn why the bat is important to them. “Y’ALL WOULD HAVE SO MUCH CLARITY (sic),” Rema assures.
To finally clear the air, “THAT ILLUMINATI TALK IS TRASH,” Rema fulminates. He discloses much effort is put behind the scenes for him to be successful, and only God deserves the glory. “[I WILL NEVER] GIVE GLORY TO SOME DIABOLICAL SHIT. DEAD IT NOW,” he cautions. Restating his Christian faith, “JESUS IS KING,” Rema sermonizes.
