Magixx, the latest addition to the talented Mavin Records squad, makes the grand announcement by means of the eponymously titled EP, Magixx. His unveiling as the newest member of the Mavin family occurred yesterday via social media posts by founder and CEO, Don Jazzy. In the post, Don Jazzy shared a video in which Magixx covered “Sinner” by Adekunle Gold. Shortly thereafter, Magixx shared the heartfelt appreciation post on his Instagram: “I am super Proud and happy for this day, this moment, this time! One I have been waiting for all my life!! it’s finally here and it’s beautiful! But more beautiful because I am here to take you on a journey of Love and Passion. Before we start I would like to say a Big Big Thank you to my Daddy @donjazzy for believing so much in me, and equipping me with the tools to navigate properly on this beautiful journey we are about to embark on.”
Magixx, a 5-track EP showcases Magixx ability to use his vocal gifts to express himself, making groovy soul records across multiple genres including R&B, Afrobeat and Afro-fusion. The project starts on an emotional note which tables his emotions towards a girl, wherein he bares his feelings for her, beckoning for her to give love a chance on the brilliantly penned “Love Don’t Cost A Dime”. He soon leaves the moody slow paced record for more groovy themed tracks as he dives fully into the second and third tracks; thus showing his multi-genre capabilities and potential to make Afro-fusion records which will fit just well in the Nigerian commercial music market.
He bring his eponymous EP to a beautiful close with the conscious “Motivate Yourself” inspirational track, speaking on his desires to make it big even though we live in a tough world where nothing comes easy. Don Jazzy executive produced Magixx with Lomon, Louddaaa, London, Randay and Naked Beatz bringing their expertise across individual songs.
