The actress says she is nervous but ready, and she wants fans to follow the whole production.
Nollywood actress Nancy Isime has announced that she is making her debut as an executive producer. She shared the news in an Instagram video on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, after several years in front of the camera.
In the video she admitted to mixed feelings. "This is my first production as executive producer. I can't lie, I am nervous and wondering if I am ready, but I think it's about time; I have also tried."
She described the move as a personal one, coming after years of playing characters and telling stories created by other people. She explained the decision in the same announcement:
"I've spent years telling other people's stories. Now, I'm stepping behind the camera to tell one of my own."
Her plan is to bring fans along for the production. "My first film as an Executive Producer. And I want you to come along for the entire journey - the meetings, the madness, the outfits, the decisions, the wins, the things that don't quite go as planned... everything," she added.
Her plans for the process also take in the search for partners and the promotion of the film, along with the unexpected challenges of a first production.
Isime began her career as a model, then transitioned into television and acting. In 2011, she acted for the first time in the television series Echoes. She already works on the production side of television as executive producer and host of The Nancy Isime Show, which launched in 2019. She also runs Nip Studios.
Two days before the announcement, she had urged her partners to verify anyone claiming to be her representative, after unauthorized actions were taken in her name.
Fans and colleagues have been congratulating her in the comments.
The film's title, cast and shooting schedule have not been revealed.
