Oluwatobiloba Daniel Anidugbe, popularly known as Kizz Daniel might have to pay hard fines and/or be made to appear before a legal court for failing to show up at a concert he was headlined to perform at. The show which was scheduled for 8 August 2022 (yesterday) in Tanzania had fans filling up the venue in no time but unfortunately, the in-demand singer failed to show up, which led to his arrest in the early hours of today (9 August 2022).
Kizz Daniel is enjoying a stellar year so far. His “Buga” single is terrorising the continent and beyond as it has chosen not to cool off since its early May release. The ‘AFROCLASSIC TOUR’ he is currently on has seen him in various US cities and African countries; his latest adventure was in Uganda which was closely to be followed by Tanzania but for some reasons, Kizz Daniel failed to show up on stage.
The reaction of the enraged crowd whose patience and tolerance limit had been exceeded shined a light on what Kizz Daniel meant to them and why they were punctual at the venue in the first place. Videos circulating social media show these angry fans throwing objects at the MC who was trying hard to calm the situation. The fans also destroyed chairs, tables and other equipment within reach as they stormed out of the venue after being slighted by Kizz Daniel and the event promoters.
Despite the outrage by his fans, kizz Daniel failed to show empathy and address the disturbing situation but it turned out it was because he had been apprehended by Tanzanian authorities for failing to show up for his show which took a lot of time, energy and funds to organise. To the fans, it appears as if they have been swindled of their hard-earned money and made to waste their time by showing up for the concert.
A video posted on social media shows the singer covering his face in a black hoodie while being escorted into a police truck.
