Badmus says her reaction could have come across as dismissive, a day after Laide Bakare called her an ingrate.

Eniola Badmus has apologised to her fellow Nollywood actress, Laide Bakare, for her reaction during a podcast interview, a day after Bakare publicly called her an ingrate. Badmus posted a written statement on Instagram on Tuesday, 20 October.

The moment came during Badmus's appearance on the YouTube show Curiosity Made Me Ask, hosted by skit maker Isbae U, who named Bakare as one of his favourite actresses. Bakare shared a video of the clip on her Instagram page on Monday, 19 October. In the clip, Badmus's expression changes, which Pulse described as a show of irritation.

In her caption, Bakare asked Badmus, "Must you Always damage my character publicly?" She said she had warned her several times to stop, and asked about the expression Badmus made at the mention of "your biggest Benefactor Name." "Honestly you are indeed an ingrate and I won't let this slide," she wrote.

Bakare also said she had been instrumental in Badmus's personal progress, and that Badmus had resolved to undermine her at any cost. "I will never allow someone else's insecurity to become my distraction," she added.

Badmus's reply came the next day. She wrote that on reflection her reaction "could have come across as dismissive", and said she sincerely apologised for it.

Writing directly to Bakare, Badmus added:

"Laide, whatever our differences, I choose peace and I genuinely wish you well."

Isbae U also replied in the comments, writing that love should lead, and said he loved both actresses.

The feud has a longer history. Back in 2024, Bakare had levelled charges against Badmus, saying she made fun of her costume during her book launch and did not applaud her successes. Reports said Badmus hit back by citing remarks Bakare had supposedly made about her in private. In April 2025, footage from the premiere of Eniola Ajao's movie Owambe Thieves in Lekki, Lagos, showed Bakare confronting Badmus, who reportedly did not want to be recorded with her. Bakare subsequently posted screenshots of their private chats and charged Badmus with ingratitude, asserting that she had assisted Badmus's career at a time when other filmmakers were hesitant to work with her.
