Content creator Isbae U used the visit to invite Aliko Dangote onto his YouTube show while the refinery's share offer keeps drawing attention.
On Monday, October 19, billionaire Aliko Dangote opened his refinery in Lagos to a group of Nigerian entertainers and content creators. Footage from the visit shows the guests aboard a tour bus and at various points inside the refinery complex.
The guest list ran across music, film and comedy. Music producer and Mavin Records boss Don Jazzy attended, alongside Nollywood actor Richard Mofe-Damijo, known as RMD, and singers Waje and Teni. Nollywood actresses Joke Silva and Faithia Balogun were there, as were the couple Lateef Adedimeji and Mo Bimpe, comedian Taaoma and content creator Isbae U. Folagade Banks, Olumide Oworu and Bolaji Ogunmola were also present.
Videos from the visit show Balogun kneeling to greet RMD.
Isbae U used his time with Dangote to invite him onto his YouTube show, Curiosity Made Me Ask. He argued that the businessman needed to reach younger Nigerians through the platforms they use, and put it to him directly:
"Most of the interviews we've seen you have been on platforms that my generation don't watch."
According to reports of the exchange, Dangote accepted the invitation. He did not announce a date for the appearance.
Located in the Lekki Free Zone, the plant started operating in 2024, and its stated capacity is 650,000 barrels of crude oil daily.
Online, the visit drew plenty of chatter on Instagram. @igbeyi_onesa wrote: "IPO for the people, when will the people have a tour to the refinery @aliko_dangotegcon sir" The share offer itself has become a running joke on social media, with some Nigerians playfully calling themselves Dangote's business partners.
The public offer got under way on September 14, 2026, when 4.1 billion ordinary shares went on sale at N525 each. The smallest permitted subscription was 10 shares, worth N5,250, and the closing date was pushed back to October 27 to accommodate interest from investors.
