Davido got on the ground with the groom for the Ìdọ̀bálẹ̀ rite, while content creator OGB Recent brought a vault of cash.

On Saturday, October 24, 2026, rapper Zlatan Ibile, born Omoniyi Raphael, held his traditional wedding in Oniru, Lagos, with his bride, Davita Lamai, the mother of his two sons. Afrobeats star Davido was among the guests, and video from the ceremony circulating on X and Instagram shows him raining US dollar bills on the couple.

The gesture had been teased. In an Instagram Story in the days before the event, Davido posted images of stacked dollar bills and described the coming weekend as a "heavy weekend for my bestie," a clear nod to Zlatan.

Davido was not the only guest with cash. Content creator OGB Recent arrived carrying a vault loaded with bundles of naira, including dollars, and dropped them for the newlyweds. Together, the two displays turned the money-spraying segment into one of the most talked-about moments of the entire celebration.

Davido also joined the groom in the Ìdọ̀bálẹ̀ rite. In keeping with custom, the groom and his groomsmen lie flat on their chests before the bride's parents, as a formal act of respect and a plea for their daughter's hand. Without a moment's pause, Davido lowered himself to the floor beside his friend. Within a traditional wedding, the gesture forms part of the Ìtọrọ, the process in which the groom's party formally asks the bride's family for her.

Punch reported that the attendees included singer Davido, fuji performer K1 De Ultimate and social media personality Enioluwa Adeoluwa. The couple danced together and exchanged kisses in front of family and guests. Zlatan wore a cream robe with a textured ivory coat and hand-stitched red beadwork, while Davita's look included red crystal beads, a traditional Okuku braided crown and a sheer crimson veil.

The day also drew attention for another reason. Videos circulating on X and Instagram show fashion designer Seyi Vodi being stopped by security at the entrance and asked to present an access tag. The reason he was refused entry is still not known, and it is also unclear if he was eventually admitted; no comment has come from either Vodi or Zlatan's representatives.

Online, the reaction to the footage of the money-spraying mixed awe and humour.

In a teaser for their wedding documentary, Davita recalled that Zlatan was too shy to ask for her phone number himself and had someone else get her contact details. Reports also indicate that the couple held a private civil wedding before the traditional ceremony in Lagos. Earlier in October, the couple shared a pre-wedding announcement on social media that featured their two sons.
