Captain Bruno Fernandes criticised the staff's pressing plan, and head coach Michael Carrick refused to answer questions about his own future.
Manchester United lost 4-1 at Como in the Champions League on Wednesday, and Como's Nico Paz scored the opener after 118 seconds. By the 57th minute Como were 3-0 up, and the defeat stretched United's winless run across all competitions.
Fàbregas is in charge of Como, who were competing in Europe's continental tournaments for the first time across their 119-year history. Paz also set up Anastasios Douvikas and scored Como's third himself, while Jacobo Ramón headed in the fourth on 76 minutes. Joshua Zirkzee's stoppage-time goal was United's only reply.
United also became the first English club to concede inside the opening two minutes in back-to-back major European games, after conceding 47 seconds into last week's 2-0 defeat at Atlético Madrid. Como moved up to sixth in the Champions League table, while United dropped to 20th.
At full time Carrick apologised to the 700 travelling fans. He described the performance they had watched:
"There are no excuses at all. It's just not acceptable."
Fernandes went further in an interview with TNT Sports, criticising the staff's plan. "It's a decision from the staff to not press man-to-man and sometimes leave a little space in behind and try to get the ball in the first moment, to wait for them, to give them the ball," he said. Asked about the tactics, he added: "That's on the manager and on the staff to see it, it's not on me."
Carrick answered at his post-match press conference. "We half pressed man-to-man in the second half and ended up conceding a goal from that," he said. He said he was angry. "I'm really angry," he said.
Asked about his future, Carrick said: "It's not about me." He told a press conference: "I've not given my position any thought."
Last week Lisandro Martínez criticised the club's recruitment after the 2-0 defeat at Atlético Madrid, with director of football Jason Wilcox the apparent target. Carrick had called last Sunday's point at Leeds a "fresh start" after Martínez's criticism.
Carrick won 12 of his 17 games in charge last season and was given a two-year contract. In the Premier League, United currently sit 13th, three points ahead of last-placed Sunderland.
United host 15th-placed Bournemouth in the Premier League on Sunday 25 October.
