The 27-year-old is expected to spend at least two months on the sidelines, a blow to Milan's options on the right flank.

Samuel Chukwueze is expected to be out for at least two months with a hip injury, which would rule him out of AC Milan's derby against Inter Milan on October 31. The Super Eagles winger's injury was reported by Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera and passed on by MilanNews.

Chukwueze has consulted a specialist over a problem with his left hip and started treatment with injections, according to the same report. He reportedly felt discomfort in the hip after Milan's Serie A game against Atalanta and missed training before the Europa League trip to Bournemouth, where Milan lost 3-0.

He will be reassessed in 10 to 15 days; Punch and Complete Sports say he is not expected to return until the end of the year, while Daily Post says he will be back by then. Chukwueze has made eight appearances in all competitions this season, with two assists since he returned to Milan from a loan spell at Premier League club Fulham.

His absence adds to Milan's injury list. Defender Matteo Gabbia and winger Alexis Saelemaekers are also out long term. The Rossoneri are reportedly considering recalling Zachary Athekame from his loan at Lyon to cover for Chukwueze while he recovers.

Milan, who remain unbeaten in Serie A this season, play Udinese on Sunday before the derby. Milan coach Ruben Amorim's side go into the game fourth on 15 points, while Udinese have lost five games in a row.

There is better news for striker Gonçalo Ramos. He has returned to full training after fatigue in his left calf, and a scan showed no muscle damage, so he is available for the trip to Udinese.

Adrien Rabiot, Mario Gila and Diego Moreira are not in Amorim's squad for that game, according to Sky Sport Italia. Rabiot has fatigue in his right calf, Moreira a similar problem in his left hamstring, and Gila inflammation in his left ankle caused by overload. Following the Bournemouth reverse, all three had been anticipated to win back their places in the starting XI. All three will be assessed ahead of Wednesday's home game against Bologna and the derby on 31 October.
