Daniel Benson, who came on the music scene with the stage name of Buju has changed it totally to BNXN, a stylization of his governmental last name, Benson, hence it would be pronounced as such.
Not giving explicit details as to the conditions surrounding the change of name, rather, BNXN uploaded a 1-minute video snippet on an unreleased song of where seemed to be his apartment, in which he wakes up and immediately gets back to writing lyrics on a plain white paper, adding to the chunky pile of papers, letters and envelopes already on the floor of his room.
Its no longer “Buju”
Call me “Benson” written as ‘BNXN’ 🧑🏽🦱🏁 pic.twitter.com/MTqpZiRWet— Benson (@BNXN) February 17, 2022
Along the lines of boastful self-confident lyrics of the snippet which he makes sure to inscribe every lyric on the paper, BNXN ends the letter, “Dear World”, addresed to his fans worldwide with the paragraph, ” . . . the way I’m no longer “BUJU” . . . [call] me Benson as in BNXN.” (as seen in the video).
Change of names is not a new thing in the music industry. Buju joins a list of top artistes who have made slight adjustments or total altercations to their stage or professional names, examples include: 2Face Idibia to 2Baba, Santi to Cruel Santino and Kiss Daniel to Kizz Daniel.
