Taika Waititi has seemingly confirmed that he is no longer involved in the Marvel Studios “Thor” franchise.
For a while now, social media has been awash with speculation that Marvel Studios is developing a fifth “Thor” movie without the involvement of Waititi, who directed the franchise’s last two installments.
Waititi himself has confirmed this development in a recent interview with Business Insider. When asked if he’d be involved in Thor 5, Waititi said”I wouldn’t know if that’s accurate.” “I know that I won’t be involved.” He added, “I’m going to concentrate on these other films that I’ve signed on for.”
Waititi’s removal from the Thor franchise is not surprising. This is because, although his Thor: Love and Thunder film was a commercial success, earning $760 million worldwide, it was heavily criticized by fans and critics alike.
It is currently unknown which director will be taking over from Waititi in Thor 5. But the tone Marvel is going for will have a significant impact on their choice. The franchise star, Chris Hemsworth has expressed a desire to have a “drastically different tone” for Thor 5.
But although the MCU has already set up Thor 5. Marvel Studios is yet to officially announce its plans to develop the film. So we can only wait and see if Thor 5 will serve as the conclusion to the character’s journey in the MCU or if that will occur in a different movie.
