Chelsea remained unbeaten in the Premier League after defeating Norwich 7-0, while Watford stunned Everton with a remarkable comeback win as Josh King returned to torment his former club.
Arsenal stretched their unbeaten run to six games following an impressive win against Aston Villa, dominating throughout to secure a 3-1 victory at the Emirates. The Gunners’ upturn in form has coincided with Aaron Ramsdale emerging as the club’s new number one, the goalkeeper having made a strong start to his career with the club after signing from Sheffield United. Questions were asked following Ramsdale’s arrival in North London this summer, but he has looked an assured presence in an Arsenal shirt and impressed with his distribution against Villa this weekend.
West Ham climbed into the Champions League places following a 1-0 win against Tottenham, moving ahead of their London rivals courtesy of Michail Antonio’s second-half goal. - 13 – Manchester United have found themselves 2-0 down at Old Trafford in the Premier League as early as the 13th minute for the first time since Newcastle visited back in October 2018 (10th min).
- 0 – Spurs didn’t attempt a single shot during the second half. It’s the third time they’ve failed to record a shot in the second half of a Premier League match since the start of last season, the most of any side.
- 52 – All 52 of Michail Antonio’s Premier League goals have been scored from inside the penalty area. Only Tim Cahill (56) and Chicharito (53) have scored more goals in the competition with 100% of them coming from inside the box.
- 45 – Jamie Vardy has been substituted at half-time in a Premier League game he started for just the third time. He’s the first player to have a maximum of six touches in a PL match despite playing 45+ minutes since Nikola Kalinic (5 in 45) for Blackburn in March 2010.
- 4 – Four of Youri Tielemans’ nine goals for Leicester City in all competitions in 2021 have come from outside the box. No Premier League player has scored more goals from outside the box in this time.
- 3 – Josh King is just the third player to score a Premier League hat-trick against a side he’s previously played for in the competition, after Andy Cole (for Man Utd vs Newcastle) and Marcus Bent (for Wigan vs Blackburn).
- 20 – Mason Mount is the 20th different player to score a Premier League hat-trick for Chelsea, with only Arsenal (21) having more different hat-trick scorers in the competition.
- 4 – Hwang Hee-Chan has scored four goals from four shots on target in the Premier League, the best such 100% record so far this term.
- 4 – Ben Chilwell is the first English player to score in four consecutive Premier League games for Chelsea since Frank Lampard in February 2013.
- 38 – Excluding MD1 matches, Norwich’s game against Chelsea will be their 38th consecutive Premier League game in which they’ve started the day in the relegation zone. Only Swindon (40 in 1993-94) have ever had a longer such run in the competition.
- 5 – Arsenal have won five of their last seven home league games (D1 L1), as many victories as they enjoyed at the Emirates in the 16 on home soil before that (D4 L7).
- 1 – Jacob Ramsey has scored his first goal in 30 Premier League appearances, in doing so becoming Aston Villa’s youngest scorer in the competition (20y 147d) since Jack Grealish netted his first top-flight goal in September 2015 (20y 3d).
- 1 – Thomas Partey has scored his first goal for Arsenal in his 40th appearance in all competitions, and from his 49th attempted shot for the Gunners.
