On a Kick livestream with Stake, the rapper flashed a chain from Birdman and shut down anyone hoping to buy his jewelry.

Drake opened a Kick livestream this week by flashing a platinum Cash Money Records chain and making one thing clear: some of his jewelry is never going up for sale. Gambling with Stake beside comedian BenDaDonn, he held the chain to the camera and credited it to Birdman.

"Birdman, platinum, Cash Money," he said. "What, are you guys crazy? You think you guys could buy our artifacts like how we buy your artifacts? No, it's in the family, dummy. What's wrong with you guys?"

The jab is pointed. Drake has spent the past few years collecting other people's rap history. In 2022 he paid nearly $3 million at auction for Jacob the Jeweler pieces made for Pharrell, wore them all at once in the "Jumbotron Shit Poppin" video, then rapped on Travis Scott's Meltdown that he had melted the chains down. "I melt down the chains that I bought from yo' boss," he spat. "Give a fuck about all of that heritage shit."

Pharrell shrugged it off. "At the heart of all of it, he's a fan of music," he told GQ. "He's a fan of the history of what it is, and I happen to be a part of that, and those artifacts are a part of it."

Drake's own pieces have been trading too. A collection of jewelry he wore on the cover of his 2011 album Take Care is currently up for auction, priced at $295,000.

He saved a piece of news for the same stream: a batch of songs from his FOMO short film will hit streaming services on Thursday.
