Netflix’s Scott Pilgrim vs The World Anime Debuts New Trailer

Netflix has released the first teaser trailer for its upcoming Scott Pilgrim vs. the World anime TV series.

The teaser trailer offers a glimpse into the show’s storyline and reveals its official title. Per the trailer, the anime series is titled Scott Pilgrim Takes Off. Which is an adaptation of Bryan Lee O’Malley’s comic book series, Scott Pilgrim. The comic book series ran from 2004 to 2010 and has sold millions of copies globally. It also inspired the 2010 movie, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.

The anime series follows Scott, an unmotivated musician who must win the affection of the woman he loves by fighting her seven evil ex-boyfriends. However, unlike the 2010 film, which stayed mostly true to the source material, Netflix intends to expand the Scott Pilgrim universe with Scott Pilgrim Takes Off. The teaser trailer already gives glimpses of the inclusion of more aspects of the comic books.

Although fans have received the trailer for Scott Pilgrim takes off with much fanfare. Its 2010 counterpart was not as lucky. Scott Pilgrim vs. the World was initially considered a box office flop. But it has since risen in popularity in recent years and is now considered a cult masterpiece.
