Former president of Real Madrid Lorenzo Sanz, who was hospitalized with coronavirus, died at the age of 76 on Saturday, his son reported. From 1995-2000 Sanz was responsible for the Spanish giants, winning two Champions League championships. “My father has just passed away. He did not deserve this ending and so,” his friend, Lorenzo Sanz junior, tweeted. “One of the best, bravest and hardest-working people I have ever seen. His family and Real Madrid were his passions.”
Sanz Jr., a former professional basketball player, said four days ago that his father was admitted to a hospital in Madrid after suffering from the symptoms of coronavirus that killed more than 1,320 people in Spain. “It is a really sad day for Real Madrid. Lorenzo Sanz linked two numbers for history yesterday and today — 7 and 8,” Ramos tweeted in reference to the main titles in the Champions League.
“In these tough days in which we find ourselves, his death saddens us even more. My sincere condolences to his family and friends. Rest in peace”
