Apple has released a new hardware range including a new iPad Pro, a compatible keyboard attachment and MacBook Air. Without any prior notice, Apple launched an improved iPad Pro and MacBook Air last week Wednesday, both of which are a refreshed Magic keyboard (or can sport via an attachment).
iPad Pro
The most powerful iPad from Apple has received a performance-enhancing upgrade: a Bionic A12Z chip. The new processor supports an eight-core CPU and the company’s Neural Engine to
provide smarter performance, longer battery life and better connectivity to the skilled creators.
The rear is fitted with a double camera system consisting of a Small 12MP camera and a Super Small 10MP camera. According to Apple, “the introduction of a second camera increases the possibilities of picture and video, allowing for multiple viewpoints and the use of multi-camera.” The lenses are complemented by a set of five microphones that capture audio in studio quality.
The integrated LiDAR Scanner enables the iPad to measure items around it to a distance of up to 5 meters. Since this new method of interpreting the environment, the app will provide more in tune with real-life AR interactions than previous generations. The iPad is gaining trackpad support with the simultaneous introduction of iOS 13.4, giving users a more
laptop-like experience than ever before – a device that people can appreciate with the brand’s updated Magic Keyboard. The adapter provides a full-size experience complete with backlit scissor-style keys.
MacBook Air
The most exciting news about the revamped MacBook Air is its price cut — instead of hitting the $1,000 mark, the model only starts at $999. The new laptop, now fitted with quad-core processors,
provides higher performance across all applications and devices globally. Equally thanks to the Intel Iris Plus Graphics Card, graphics performance has been improved by 80 percent compared to the last version. Apple strays from the troublesome butterfly keys and has reinstalled those with a mechanism for scissoring. Storage now starts at 256 GB but, if necessary, can be up to 2 TB.
The updated iPad Air is now available for order starting at $799, while the Magic Keyboard is expected to launch at $299 in May. The new MacBook Air’s starting price is just a hair and is more expensive than its laptop counterpart at $999.
