Every Marvel And DC Studios Film Releasing In 2025

Marvel and DC are both taking a break from the big screen this year. Both companies are only releasing one theatrical project in 2024. Marvel Studios sole theatrical release this year is Deadpool and Wolverine, while DC will only release Joker 2.

This is a sharp drop from previous years, in which both studios typically released 3–4 projects a year. Nevertheless, both studios are poised to make a dramatic return in 2025, as the two jugganuts will be releasing several movies such as The Fantastic Four and Superman Legacy that’ll undoubtedly dominate pop culture discussions.

Here’s a list of every Marvel and DC studios project that will premiere in 2025, barring any unexpected changes.

Marvel Studios: Captain America: Brave New World (February 14)

This is the fourth film in the Captain America franchise. Although Marvel Studios has not published the film’s official synopsis, It will follow Sam Wilson as the new Captain America. The film stars Harrison Ford, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Liv Tyler, Tim Blake Nelson, Rosa Salazar, and Danny Ramirez.

Marvel Studios: Thunderbolts (May 2)

This is the second Marvel film releasing in 2025. Some fans have described it as Marvel’s version of The Suicide Squad, going by its official synopsis, which reads: “A group of antiheroes [that] goes on missions for the government.” They aren’t wrong. Thunderbolts is a sequel to Black Widow, Ant-Man and the Wasp, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and Captain America: Brave New World.

It stars Sebastian Stan, Florence Pugh, Wyatt Russell, Olga Kurylenko,David Harbour, and Hannah John-Kamen.

DC Studios: Superman: Legacy (July 11)

Arguably one of the most anticipated films of 2025. Superman: Legacy tells the story of Superman’s journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent of Smallville, Kansas. He is the embodiment of truth, justice, and the American way, guided by human kindness in a world that sees kindness as old-fashioned.”

The film is the first theatrical release in James Gunn’s DC Universe. It stars David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan, Isabela Merced, Edi Gathegi, Nathan Fillion, and Anthony Carrigan.

Marvel Studios: The Fantastic Four (July 25)

Marvel’s first family, the Fantastic Four, is finally joining the MCU. So far, only the casting of the film has been announced, with “Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn confirmed to star as the Fantastic Four. However, more details are sure to be revealed in the coming months.

DC Studios: The Batman Part II (October 3)

This is a sequel to 2022’s The Batman and is set outside the new DCU continuity. There is currently not much information available about the film beyond its October 3rd release date. Furthermore, amongst its cast, Warner Bros. has only confirmed Robert Pattinson’s return as Bruce Wayne/Batman. However, it is almost certain that Jeffrey Wright, Andy Serkins, and Colin Farrell will return to reprise their respective roles.

Marvel Studios: Blade (November 7)

The plot of the film is currently under wraps. However, Marvel Studios has confirmed that it’ll star Mahershala Ali as Eric Brooks/Blade. As well as John West Jr., Delroy Lindo, Aaron Pierre, Milan Ray, and Mia Goth.
