The substitute's 89th-minute strike, his first goal of the campaign, sealed the win at the Allianz Stadium.
Super Eagles midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru opened his goal account for the 2026/2027 campaign on Sunday night, scoring Lazio's third goal in a 3-0 win over Juventus at the Allianz Stadium.
Lazio were already two goals up when he came on. Defender Oliver Provstgaard had given them the lead in the 37th minute, and forward Gustav Isaksen made it 2-0 in the 66th. Dele-Bashiru replaced Kenneth Taylor in the 69th minute.
He struck in the 89th minute. BBC Sport's live text describes a right-footed shot from the right side of the box into the centre of the goal, after a fast break, and credits Lazio striker Andrea Pinamonti with the assist, while AllNigeriaSoccer describes a solo run from his own half before a shot into the bottom corner.
The former Manchester City midfielder had a difficult start to the season. AllNigeriaSoccer reports that fitness and injury problems kept him out of Nigeria's 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau, and that he missed four league matches against Genoa, Udinese, AC Milan and Venezia while recovering. He has featured in four matches across all competitions. This was his first goal for Lazio since the start of the campaign.
Lazio manager Gennaro Gattuso celebrated his first-ever managerial win away at Juventus, Goal.com reports. Gattuso told DAZN Italia about his own doubts over the job:
"I said that I didn't want to be a coach anymore because I've been a player."
He said he had to work on himself, and that he now listens to the players on most matters. "There are two or three things that I am intransigent on, but the rest I listen to the players." On the modern squad, he said: "With phones and devices, that's the world they live in now and I have to accept that."
Gattuso emphasised that clear boundaries, alongside freedom for players, had created an environment where everyone thrives. "The things I do stick to, they need to follow and that's it. I think that is the secret," Gattuso added.
BBC Sport's match stats show Juventus with 57.7% of possession to Lazio's 42.3%. Both teams had nine shots, and Lazio put three on target to Juventus's two. Lazio hit the woodwork once, and goalkeeper Christos Mandas made two saves.
Lazio are second in Serie A with 19 points from seven games, six of them wins and one a draw, according to BBC Sport's table. Juventus are eighth on 11.
Goal.com also notes that Lazio fans are staging ongoing protests against the club's ownership.
