Cesc Fabregas Names The One Player He would Sign If He Became Arsenal Or Chelsea Manager

Former Arsenal captain and Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has revealed the one player he would sign if he was in charge of one of the London duo of Chelsea and Arsenal.

The Spain international had a successful spell at the London clubs winning titles with both sides in the capital, either side of a spell with Barcelona and is now seeing out the peak years of his career with Monaco.

Widely regarded to be one of the greatest graduates of Arsenal’s academy system, many would like to see Fabregas remain in football when he retires from playing.

Whether that would see the midfielder move into a coaching role or pursue a career in management remains to be seen but he has given an insight into the latter.

Asked which player he would target if he was a manager, Fabregas named a player that Arsenal and Chelsea fans would both love to see.

“Cristiano is 35 and Leo is going to turn 33, they are older. For youth, talent, desire, and mentality, I would sign Mbappe,” he told the Spanish radio station, Cadena Cope

“The thought of having him for ten years upfront for my team, I would go for him. Then there are players like Neymar and [Erling] Haaland, but due to his goal getting and his speed, Mbappé reminds me of Thierry Henry.

“I saw him from in behind and it was a delight when you gave him a long pass into space.”

Arsenal were heavily linked with Mbappe before he moved to Paris Saint-Germain and the future of the World Cup winner continues to attract speculation, with Real Madrid being a long-term admirer.
