Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, famously recognized as Burna Boy is set to become the first-ever Nigerian artiste to host a concert in the ginormous 90,000-capacity Wembley Stadium, UK, come 2023. This he pronounced via a simple tweet which reads: “WEMBLEY STADIUM 2023.”
Burna Boy is no stranger to touring and performing on the world’s famous stages and event venues. One of his most recent exploits is selling out the infamous Madison Square Garden, New York in April 2022; other centres he has been privileged to show off his craft in are The O2 Arena, UK, State Farm Arena., USA, Ziggo Dome, The Netherlands, Parc del Fòrum, Spain, Accor Arena, France, Hollywood Bowl, USA, Geneva Arena, Switzerland and Parc Jean-Drapeau, Canada, to name a few.
Recently, Burna Boy had a feel of Wembley Stadium, honouring Ed Sheeran’s invite to perform their then-unreleased song “For My Hand” to the excited crowd. That July 1 performance given might have given Burna Boy the drive to scheduling a 2023 performance in the stadium.
Burna Boy is still on his ‘Love, Damini’ your, selling out venues one performance at a time, so it does not seem far-fetched that he has set his eyes on the momentous Wembley Stadium.
