On the Ask Ayra Starr show, the singer said she would break up rather than date two men at once.
Ayra Starr, the *Rush* hitmaker, has said she would end a serious relationship if she found another man more attractive than her partner. She gave the answer on the Ask Ayra Starr show, replying to a woman who said she faced a similar dilemma. The reports appeared on 7 October 2026.
The singer said she would not try to juggle two partners. "If I'm in a serious relationship with a guy and then I find another guy more attractive, I would break up with him instead of dating both of them at the same time," she said. "I don't think you can love two people," she added, and advised anyone in that position to take time for themselves to work out what they feel.
She also urged fans not to drop their friends once they are in a relationship. "You should never abandon your friends because you are in love." A partner should not cut someone off from their friends, she said, and there should be a balance between friendship and romantic love.
In a previous conversation, she said looks alone would not be enough to draw her in. "You can be fine and not have sense. It is the truth," she said at the time.
Her latest answer has fed a debate online. Some social media users said attraction is an important part of romance. Others asked whether being attracted to someone else should be enough reason to leave a committed partner.
