Rocky told Billboard that the single, previously titled Mushroom Clouds, is the first taste of Disc 2 of Don't Be Dumb, though no release date has been set for the album.
A$AP Rocky has finally released Shroom Clouds, a song he shelved after performing it a handful of times in 2021 and 2022. The track, now completed with guests Reggie and Jeremih, came out on Friday (October 16) through A$AP Worldwide and RCA.
The song was previously titled Mushroom Clouds. Rocky performed it at a 420 Weedmaps event and at Governors Ball in 2021, and again during his Amazon Music Live set in 2022. He has said the earlier version was a "fan favorite" and that he is now re-releasing it.
Hector Delgado of A$AP Mob produced the track with Sleeping Bear, and Billboard describes the production as trippy. Rocky delivers the catchy chorus, which he raps as: "Super stoned, super high/ March, April, May, shroom, July/ Super stoned, super high/ See mushroom clouds in the sky."
Rocky confirmed to Billboard that Disc 2 is on the horizon, though Pitchfork notes the link to Disc 2 is not in the single's press release, and no drop date has been confirmed yet. He explained what the second disc holds:
"Disc 2 is all of the songs that I dropped that those alter egos didn't get an album to live on, because the next chapter is right after that."
Complex says tracks such as Sundress and Babushka Boi, which never reached an album, will be on the project, along with a couple of new singles that people probably never heard. HotNewHipHop adds Trunks, Grim Freestyle and Hijack to the list, and reports that Rocky has said some songs will get revised verses.
Don't Be Dumb arrived in January and debuted atop the Billboard 200 with 123,000 total album-equivalent units. It was Rocky's first LP since 2018's TESTING, and Billboard notes it marked his first No. 1 in over a decade. Complex has ranked it among the best rap albums of 2026 so far.
Billboard reports that the 38-year-old, who has wrapped up a European trek, will bring the Don't Be Dumb World Tour to five arenas across Australia and New Zealand this December.
