The 2024 Golden Globe Awards officially kicked off the awards season with a star-studded ceremony that celebrated the best performances in film and television.
Universal’s blockbuster, “Oppenheimer,” won five awards from eight nominations at the Golden Globes. Its wins include the highly coveted “Best Drama Motion Picture.” Likewise, the film’s director, Christopher Nolan, and the lead actor, Ciliam Murphy, also took home awards.
Surprisingly, the most nominated movie of the night, Barbie, only won two awards out of nine nominations. It won the newly introduced cinematic and box office achievement awards. As well as the best original song for Billie Eilish’s “What Was I Made For?”
On the TV side of things, “Succession won best television drama. While its stars Sarah Snook, Matthew MacFadyen, and Kieran Culkin also took home awards for their roles on the show, Likewise, Hulu’s acclaimed series “The Bear” received three awards, while its counterpart “Only Murders in the Building” received none.
